DESCRIPTION:Pantheon 2.0 is the second installation of Monsieur Diop’s ongoing body of work.\nDrawing inspiration from ancient Greek religious icons, Diop creates new imaginative spiritual entities, mythological figures that feel both ancestral and contemporary.\nThrough these works, he reflects on his local community in the Northern Rivers and the broader shift in Western society toward exploring alternative spiritual paths.As people reconnect with ancient and Indigenous traditions, sometimes with great reverence, sometimes through problematic reappropriation, Diop positions himself as an observer.\nHe witnesses the longing for meaning, the search for belonging, the beauty, the tensions, the contrasts…\nThese figures emerge from that observation.
