Empty Bowls
Recognised worldwide for the contribution to local communities, “Empty Bowls” is an international project to fight hunger.
Empty Bowls events educate people and provide a means to create positive and lasting change in their own communities. In exchange for a donation—participants get a meal and a bowl to keep to remind them of hunger.
Previous events have raised in excess of $50,000 for the homeless and hungry in our community. All monies raised go directly to Agape Outreach Inc, who do the most amazing job feeding our homeless, helping them with haircuts, laundry, finding them shelter, helping them apply for jobs, and more. Agape and their volunteers work in our community between Southport and Byron.
We currently have 52 potters on board providing an amazing array of bowls for the event, and 6 amazing restaurants providing and serving a beautiful, simple meal.
The success of Empty Bowls has always been that the event is simple and it is a 100% donation of time and product, whether it’s bowls, food, venue, photographers, printers and volunteers on the day.
We hope to see you there.
